01What you will find here
Each town has four pages: today, tomorrow, the next 10 days and the month. Today's page shows the current weather and how it feels, an hour-by-hour forecast, the sea temperature and waves on the coast, the UV index through the day, Saharan dust when it is in the air, and official weather warnings when they are in force.
Under the forecast you will find practical tips for the day — swimming, sunscreen, what to wear — a comparison with the same day a year ago, and the town's climate: average temperatures, rainfall and sea temperature month by month. Each page also has a short guide to the town's weather, written for that place.
02Where the data comes from
We do not invent numbers. Everything on the forecast pages is calculated from open data sources:
- forecast — MET Norway (CC BY 4.0);
- sea surface temperature — NOAA OISST;
- waves — E.U. Copernicus Marine Service Information;
- Saharan dust — Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS);
- weather warnings — Cyprus Department of Meteorology via MeteoAlarm (CC BY 4.0);
- climate normals — long-term averages from Cyprus Department of Meteorology stations;
- "This day a year ago" — NASA POWER observations, adjusted to the station normal.
Forecasts are estimates and can change, especially several days ahead. For official warnings and in an emergency, follow the Cyprus Department of Meteorology and the local authorities.
03How the town guides are written
The guides under the forecast are prepared by the NeSkazano editorial team with digital tools, following our editorial rules. Every figure in them — temperatures, rainfall, sea temperature — comes from the climate data shown on the same page, and the texts are checked before publication: figures against the data, structure and language.
The guides describe the climate and how to read the forecast. They are not professional advice on health, travel safety or anything else. If you find an error, write to us and we will correct it.
