Limassol weather tomorrow: what to prepare for
Tomorrow's weather in Limassol depends on the season: summer can bring heat and strong sun, winter rain and wind. In August the average daytime temperature is 34°C.
01What to watch for in Limassol
Limassol stretches along Akrotiri Bay on the south coast, so the weather by the sea also depends on the wind. On the beach there can be gusts and waves that change swimming conditions even under a clear sky. When the sea is rough, it is better to put off swimming; sunshine alone tells you nothing about the state of the water near the shore.
From June to September it is hot here, and in July even the nights average 24°C. The strong sun is one more reason to move long outdoor tasks from midday to the morning. In the rainy season, from November to March, thundery downpours are possible, and a short walk can end in heavy rain. December is the wettest month, with 100 mm on average.
Sometimes a dust haze hangs over the town: distant outlines fade and visibility drops. In these conditions the views can stay blurred even without rain. In Limassol dust haze can occur without any rainy weather, so a grey sky does not always mean rain.
02How to prepare for tomorrow
In spring, take a windproof jacket for an evening by the sea: the sea breeze and humidity make it feel cooler after the warmth of the day. On the beach, don't rush into the water after a warm morning, because in spring the sea warms up more slowly than the air. In summer you need a hat and sunscreen even for ordinary errands in town, as the UV index reaches 10–11 at midday. Move a long walk to the morning and stay in the shade at midday.
In autumn, change into dry clothes after a swim before going for an evening walk: the sea is still warm, but the air is already cooler. In winter, choose a waterproof coat with a hood for getting around town in the rain; January nights average 11°C. If you are heading from Limassol up to the Troodos Mountains, take warmer clothes than you need on the coast. The average January night-time temperature there is 1°C.
